I meant to put more in my comments – I struggled for hours – reinstalling and never got it to work – MySQL Support was always unavailable as well as the Session Path – watched video and followed along and everything went great-I kept getting a blank Install2.php page but this solved it. Thanks again for making this and sharing it.

Go through it step …
Go through it step by step again. Make sure you give the IUSR___ user read and write access on the session save path in Explorer, and double-check the other paths as well. That should really be all you need to do.

Great series of tutorials! Well done! I am still having problems though running Joomla. In the ‘Required Settings Check:’ when Joomla starts the installation I am seeing ‘- MySQL support Unavailable’ and ‘Session save path Unwritable’. I have checked MySQL and the service is running and the port isn’t been blocked by the firewall. I also have the Sessions save path correct. Any suggestions?
